Following the first step

I thought I'd answer some of the questions I'd received asking what was I printing in the picture of the very first post of this blog. The simple answer is the weather report of that day. You see, I have had the good fortune to be invited on a number of occasions to the print studio of Thomas Bullinger in Denmark and on each occasion we set ourselves the task of producing in one week a completed printed project with hand set type and original illustration work from scratch. The theme varies as does the size and approach but the creative energy and buzz is always high. Anyway, on this occasion we worked towards the theme of 'the elements' and I combined the weather with the numbering system for the Periodic Table introduced into the text.
